The Great Pumpkin Patch

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Miles is having a snugly day doesn't want his mommy to put him down and I refuse to nap with a baby in my bed...so I'll take the opportunity to update the blog which hasn't had near enough love since Mile's debut. Who would of thought a newborn would keep me this busy? I had a plan for "catch up" of everything on leave---that plan went out the window on day three.

PUMPKINS

We head to Bronk's for our pumpkins every year to pick our own pumpkins...this year was no expectation but instead of a family of 3, we were a family of 4. Miles was just 4 days old when we made the trip. It was cool out and Miles was fussy, so the trip was cut short, but we did find 4 pumpkins to take home and make ours.

PUMPKIN CARVING

We always wait to carve our pumpkins until the day before Halloween. However this year we carved them on Monday night because Doug had to work Tuesday evening so we could spend Halloween Trick or Treating with Harrison together. Miles will spend the evening snuggling with his Auntie Potter. This will be a good opportunity for Harrison to spend time with just the two of us.

It was a little challenging trying to capture the pumpkin guts this year. Miles has his crabby time from 6-8 at night, so to be frank I was in the middle of nursing him to settle him down while snapping these. The verdict? Poor photo quality and I need at least another arm and stronger muscles to hold up the camera one handed...bring on the weights and extra appendage.

Oh and turns out two pumpkins rotted...so we were down to two.

Can you tell which one is Harrison's?

 Happy Halloween!
