Easter Best.

Tuesday, April 22, 2014

Easter morning, it poured... but that didn't stop the Easter bunny from hiding eggs outside. The boys geared up in their sweats and rain boot to find get find those eggs. (Harrison was scoping them outside the window the whole time he was eating breakfast :). Once he was unleashed with his basket he was went wild and I was quick enough to get one whole shot of him during the hunt. But before we head outside, here is a few from Easter egg dying (Miles was still a little to young this year).

Thursday evening.
Easter Morning is here!

After the Easter dinner, still in our Easter Best (plus rain boots)---this happened.

Don't let the little guy in the blue fool you, he started this, so we just went with it...

Oh and here photo debut of my bread/veggie dip bunny we brought to brunch. Pinterest made this look easy... It wasn't. And they the tutorial was missing how to attach the eyes, teeth and nose, so I what came first to mind; I super glued them on :)

We hope you had a wonderful Easter. Our family has been through a lot over the last 6+ months...There has been a lot of days we have judged God, cursed what he has done to us. We are human, we do things we regret and God doesn't judge us for that, instead he forgives us.

We are still along way from what I would feel is normal or what I would like a new normal to feel like, but we are so blessed to have each other, our boys, our family, friends and even Violet :)

Peace & love from the Kelley's

Making Waves.

So more adorable photos in the bath tub? Yep here they come!

So he's either eating or in the bath tub in almost every photo I post these days. This is because this is the only time he is confined long enough to make any eye contact with me (the camera). It's the 18-24 month phase where you will see more of the back of his head than the front :)

Well this is how we roll until about at 3, unless I get lucky. In that case, let this be when I get around to taking his official 18 month portraits later this month. I want to shoot them outdoors mainly---so I am waiting and waiting for it to resemble a bit of spring as well. I also have an indoor set-up in mind, but I can't find the right shirt to go with the set up. I guess I should insert #photographermomproblems into this post. Anyways I am waiting an official 18 month post until I have shot 18 month photos.

This bit of cuteness should tide you over for now...

Splashing Momma is so much fun!

Bath time Ducky is a favorite....Far right giving him kisses :)

What? Bath time is over? :/

Defiant Man

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

This guy has been on a crabby stretch and no end seems to be in sight. For a 1 year old, he can throw AMAZING temper tantrums. They say girl's are worse with attitude, THANK GOD I have boys; I don't know how my mom survived raising me.

It's rough being 1 I know...I was once one myself. I can't say I have a lot of parenting experience, but having 4 years under my belt so far and ONE is hard, really hard. It's the hardest year we parented Harrison so far and definitely equally if not harder with Miles. Don't worry Mom, I am getting pay back with this guy.

The other day I was walking into my studio and a mom was on the phone outside of the building arguing with her son on the phone about getting a D in a class, not turning in his homework and wondering why he doesn't think anything is wrong with getting a D. I thought to myself..."Wow, it won't be long until I'm probably having that same conversation." Perhaps I should enjoy parenting the age of 1 a little more.

Now here is the little defiant soon to be 18 month old. He looks so innocent, don't let him fool you! :)

Hello Spring!

It's undoubtedly been the worst Minnesota winter I've ever lived... Maybe it was harder because I am getting older? I've been blaming that a lot on stuff lately...after all I turn the big 3-0 this year. Goodbye youth.

At least spring has decided to show up, even in between a snowstorm that luckily missed us by hair. The snow has officially all melted out of our yard for the second time since November. We have one small ice patch that should bite the dust tomorrow when temperature soar to near 70! Hey, in Minnesota, this is a BIG DEAL.

We have been spending everyday outside for almost a week now. Honestly it feels like we broke out of jail...pretty amazing high! If anything I guess, it just makes us appreciate summer that much more. We Minnesotans are VERY thankful people.

Saturday we took a trip to the "big park" (Lake Park) for the first time this year. All the boys had a blast, but I have to say Miles wins the award for being the most excited ever to discover pea gravel. He enjoyed throwing it, filling up my hands, tasting it and most of all swimming in it.

Happy Spring!
