Dear Moms

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

It's hard work raising kids. You know you hear this at least a dozen, hundred, even thousand times before you have kids.

Well those people were right. It's really, really freaking hard. I read an amazing article Dear Mom's you are stronger than you think  that pretty much sums of just how crazy life can be and how much you sometimes feel like you are failing as a parent. I totally promise the read is worth it and awesome pick me up especially after your two year old empties a entire tube of tooth paste on the carpet, followed by half a bottle of hair gel and then opens an entire jug of apple juice on the floor within a half hour, true story---so don't ask about my Friday.

In the end... I love these boys to pieces. They just make me a little crazy :)

I'm a MOM

So I used to be fashionalable...can't say I there now days---but I have a lot of good intentions if you have checked out my fashion board on Pinterest. Though I may not be as fashionable anymore---I don't wear mom jeans quite yet.

One thing I have noticed a lot lately are moms who take their children to parks, zoos, and children muesums in tall steletos or boots with high fashion tops and over the top jewerly. Hello moms, we are there to play with our children, not win a fashion contest. Seems these days moms care more about what they look like than actually getting down any playing with their children. I pride myself in not being one those moms.

Here is little vintage photo reflection on my thoughts:

Real mom's wear comfy pants and tennis shoes. This is my wardrobe when I am not at work. After all I want to be comfortable when I get down on the floor to play.
Real mom's actually play with their young children, not gossip on the park benches .

Real mom's go down the same slide a dozen times and have enough electricity in their hair after to light a light bulb.
Real mom's dress in layers and head to the beach on a warm winter day.
Real mom's go on hunting quests to find sticks to dig in the sand with.
Real mom's capture shots like this.

February 19th, a sunny 41 degrees, yep folks we live in Minnesota.
This was the last take from our beach excursion. Just something I love about this photo.
